Description
Irgacure 184(1104), Chemical name 1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone, Short name HCPK or UV-184, CAS number 947-19-3, Absorption spectrum : 244nm、280nm、330nm, White crystal powder, Soluble in organic solvents, such as acetone, toluene, methanol, ethyl acetate and other low molecular weight esters.
1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone uses
Mainly used in surface curing systems, such as UV curing of acrylate varnish coatings on paper, wood, metal and plastic surfaces. It is especially recommended for UV coatings that require long-term exposure to the sun and only slightly yellow.
Irgacure 184 acts as a highly efficient UV curable initiator and non-yellowing yellow photoinitiator.
Specifically used in clear varnish, copy varnish, plastic varnish, wood coating, adhesive, lithographic ink, screen printing ink, flexo ink, electronic products and other products.
Advantage
Thermal stability
The Irgacure 184 has benzaldehyde and cyclohexanone in the photodegradation product, has a certain odor, and does not produce a benzyl group.
No yellowing
The Irgacure 184 has good non-yellowing properties, and the cured coating has a very small degree of yellowing even when exposed to sunlight for a long time, and thus is particularly suitable for coatings and inks having high yellowing degree.
The Irgacure 184 is used in combination with the light stabilizer LS292 to further reduce the yellowing of the acrylic system polyurethane under outdoor sunlight.
High photoinitiation activity
Irgacure 184 mainly absorbs 333nm wavelength, which can initiate rapid curing of acrylate and methacrylate systems. The reference dosage is 2%~4%, and the curing time is 190s and 140s respectively.
Safety warning
Irritating to eyes.
In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
